Recovery

Lost the link?
Let's find your way back.

LIFEKEY has no passwords to reset, so recovery starts with a link you still have. Paste anything that looks like one and we'll identify it.

Identify a link

Paste a full LIFEKEY address or just the code from the end of one. We'll work out whether it's the public profile or the private edit link and take you straight there.

What you paste is checked and discarded — it's never stored, and never added to the address bar.

Where to look for it

The private edit link is a long random string that only ever existed on your screen. Four places it usually turns up:

Your password manager

The private link is a credential, so this is where we ask people to put it. Search for LIFEKEY, or for the word "edit".

Browser history

Open your history and search for "lifekey" or "/edit/". If you saved the profile from the same device, the link is very likely still there.

Messages to yourself

Many people text or email the links to themselves right after creating a profile. Check your own thread, your drafts, and your notes app.

Anyone who helped you

If a family member or carer set the profile up, they may still have the confirmation screen open or the link saved.

If it's truly gone

We can't email a private link back to you. There are no accounts, which means there is no identity for us to check against — and a service that hands out edit links to whoever asks would be a far bigger problem than a lost one. The fix is to build a fresh profile, save the new private link somewhere durable, and replace the old public link wherever you shared it.
